Zoo Boo

Yesterday, Sophia and I met up at the Houston Zoo with a few other ladies and their children from our small group at church.  In anticipation of Halloween coming up, the Zoo was having Zoo Boo where kids dress up in costumes and get to do some fun Halloween activities.  Of course, Sophia did not get to do any of these, but we did dress up and she loved getting out of the house!  We borrowed a costume from Aunt Melanie and had a great time.
At the pumpkin patch!

Loving my "chubby" strawberry:)

She was such a good baby and slept for a lot of the time.

We got to see the baby elephants come out and play!

They were so cute playing in the water!

I can't wait until Sophia starts noticing the animals.  We bought a year membership to the zoo and since we live only 10 minutes away, we plan on spending many days there:)

1 Month Old Already!!!

I can't believe that our little Sophia is already one month old.  Time has gone by so fast and Sophia is growing up so quickly!  At Sophia's 1st check up she was 11 days old.  She measured 20 inches and weighed 8 lbs. 1 oz.  The pediatrician was thrilled with her weight gain and I just told her that Sophia had a huge appetite and ate all the time!  Everything went great at her appointment and I was so proud of how well she behaved.  Things that have been going on this month are:
Feeding-for the first 3 weeks, I felt like Sophia never stopped eating.  During the day, she would eat, sleep for about 20-30 minutes and then wanted to eat again!  I finally could not take it any longer, so I began pumping and feeding her with a bottle, and I quickly realized that I was not producing quite enough milk for my ravenous child.  I was pumping 4-6 oz. every 3 hours, but some feedings she wanted even more!  As soon as figured this out and started supplementing with formula, we both have been much happier!
Sleeping-I have been so blessed to have a child that knew day and night from day 1.  Sophia has always slept good at night and it has made my life so much better.  Right now she usually sleeps from 10pm-2am, 3am-5am, and 6am-8am, so that is 8 hours of much needed rest especially since momma does not get any naps during the day!
Playing-This week has been really exciting because Sophia is starting to take notice of toys and her surroundings.  At least twice a day, we have our play time where we do our tummy time and play with toys.  It is so much fun to watch her play and she has even been giving us some adorable smiles!  I can't wait for her to be even more interactive with her play time.

Here are a few other pictures of her this month:
