My oh my-month five!!!

Sitting pretty..for now:)

Reaching for her feet...

She got them!!!
My little Sophia is now FIVE months old, and she is not little any more!  She has grown up so much this month and I am loving every second of it.  I literally could play with her all day long-and some days I do!  She is so engaged and interested in everything and I love watching her learn new things.
Here's what she has been up to this month:
Eating: Sophia is now eating 2 servings of solids every day.  She gets oatmeal when she wakes up from her nap (usually around 2pm) and a fruit or veggie around 5pm.  She loves eating her big girl food and seems to like everything I have given her so far-not a big surprise since we know she LOVES her food:) This month, she has eaten pears, apples, sweet potatoes, green beans, and oatmeal.  She has definitely slowed down her milk intake and can go much longer between meals.  She is drinking about 30 oz each day.
Sleeping: No news here.  She is still sleeping about 12 hours each night.  She goes down around 7:30 and is up at 8am.  She naps around 11am for a couple of hours.  I am loving not swaddling her any more and she sleeps on her tummy the entire night.
Playing:  This has been a big month for playing.  She loves playing in her bouncy chair-which is great for me because it allows me some free time.  She has a new best friend-our Beagle, Sydney.  I am so appreciative of Sydney now because Sophia will watch Sydney and be entertained for quite a while.  She is so cute reaching out to touch her and Sydney is a great sport(and I'm sure loving the extra attention).  She has also started sitting on her own(with me close by).  She has been especially excited this month-I'm pretty sure she is the happiest baby I have ever seen!  She is always smiling and laughing and I would love to know what goes on in their heads! I'm also pretty sure she is teething because she is drooling everywhere and chewing on everything.  I can't wait to see a tooth popping out!

In just a few weeks, my little girl will be half way through her first year!  I cannot believe how fast she is growing up and I am already starting to think about her first birthday party.  I try to tell myself each day to enjoy our moments together because the days go by too quickly.  Thankfully, I am able to be with Sophia all day long and I am so blessed to be able to experience all of her "firsts" with her.

Four Months Old!

Look "Whooo" is 4 months old!!!

Love her expression:)

Three days after Christmas, Sophia turned four months old.  She is such a big girl now and is able to do so much more, which makes my days with her very entertaining:)  Here is what has been going on this month:
Eating: Sophia has slowed down her eating a little and is on more of a schedule.  I am only pumping now(she prefers the bottle), but she strictly is eating breast milk.  The best new thing she can do is feed herself her bottle.  She is eating about 5-10 ounces in the morning before her nap and 15-20 ounces before bedtime.  At her 4 month check up she weighed in at 16lbs 14oz, and 25 1/2 in. long!
Sleeping:  Sophia is such a champ in this category.  She sleeps through the night from 8pm-8am.  Rarely does she wake up in the middle of the night, but if she does, she usually rolls around and talks for a few minutes, and then is back to sleep.  She is still sleeping in her swaddle sack.  She takes her nap from 11am-2pm and a cat nap around 6pm.  This month she has made much more of a schedule with her nap times, and lets us know she is tired by getting fussy.  She loves her sleep:)
Play Time: Sophia has a lot of firsts in this category this month.  She is a champ at rolling from her back to her belly.  She will do it over and over again.  She also is grabbing everything and putting it in her mouth.   I think she is teething as well because she wants to bite down on anything soft and drools everywhere.  She has started using her bouncy seat which provides me with some free time that I much appreciate.  She is close to sitting on her own but not there yet.  Did I mention that she holds her own bottle, because it is so awesome!  I feel like I have more free time now that I can just hand her the bottle.  She also is easily entertained on her own with toys that talk or light up.
Half way there!

Stll loves tummy time-especially when she gets to watch fishies:)

Merry Christmas!

Sophia's first Christmas started off a little rocky.  The week before Christmas she started to get sick and I waited a few days before finally taking her to the doctor.  We found out that she had both RSV and an ear infection!  Poor baby girl was so good when I know she felt awful.  And to top it all off, Scott and I both got sick as well.  We were feeling better by Christmas but none of us were 100%.  Luckily, this was the first Christmas we were not travelling, so we hung out at the house on Christmas Eve(which was a nice change).  Christmas morning was so much fun with a baby.  Even though Sophia does not know what is going on, I have just as much fun opening gifts for her as I do the gifts for me:)  We spent Christmas evening at my Aunt and Uncle's house and then spent the night at my parents.  I am so proud of myself for taking so many pictures to remember the fun time we had celebrating Jesus' Birthday!
Our favorite present under the tree!
