My One Year Wonder!

Sophia is ONE YEAR OLD!!! I do not know where the year went but I do know it went fast.  Last weekend we celebrated Sophia's Birthday at my parents' house.  We had a giraffe themed party and it was tons of fun.  Family and a few friends made the trip out to Magnolia and I'm pretty sure it was Sophia's greatest day so far.  She never stopped smiling and we had to wake her up the following morning for church at 9am!  Her stats at her 12 month check up were just under 24 pounds and 30 inches long.  She is on the move all the time and I love to watch her "waddle" around.  She still does not have any teeth so we are anxiously anticipating those coming in soon.

What an amazing first year it has been being a mom.  I love our little family and can't wait for the blessings the future holds for us. 

My Eleven Month Walker!

                                    

Sophia is now eleven months and she is officially walking!!! She is still a bit unsteady but she improves every day.  It is so fun to watch her waddle around.  Here is the video I got of her walking before she got ready for bed:

Here is what else we have been up to this month:

Eating: Sophia is enjoying solids more and more.  I was worried about how she would give up her bottle, but she is slowly wanting it less and less.  Sophia eats anything we give and does not leave a crumb behind! She loves exploring new foods and it makes dinner time very easy and fun.

Sleeping: Still sleeps 11-12 hours.

Playing: Loves to take EVERYTHING out of cabinets, drawers, bins, etc.  Now we need to work on putting things back, especially since we are trying to sell our house and I am worn out!  Sophia will play for hours by herself.  She is such a little explorer and is so happy discovering things on her own.  She also LOVES stuffed animals and buries her head in them when she gets them.  It is so sweet!

I can hardly believe I am now planning Sophia's FIRST Birthday.  I'm so excited to see what the future holds for my sweet  little girl!

 

Double Digits!!!

My girl is now 10 months and this is such a fun age.  Sophia is not yet walking, but she thinks she can!  She can stand on her own and walks around if she is holding on to something.  She is in to everything, which can be difficult at times, but I love it because she will stay busy on her own for a while and give me some free time.  This month was also special because I turned 30-Ahhh!!! I had such a great time celebrating with friends in New Orleans and Sophia was spoiled rotten by Grammy, Grandpa, and Aunt Kel. Here is what else Sophia has been up to this month:

Sleeping:  Bedtime is around 8:30pm and she wakes up around 8am.  Nap is around 1:00pm for at least 2 hours.  She still loves her sleep and has added her pink puppy as a bed companion.  I absolutely love seeing her sleep with a stuffed animal-so sweet!
Eating: Our girl loves to eat.  In fact, we have yet to find a food she does not like!  She currently has 3 bottles in the morning and some light snacks and 2 bottles in the evening.  She now eats a full meal with us at dinner consisting of a meat, cheese, and fruit/veggie.  She rarely leaves a crumb:)
Playing:  Sophia is always busy getting into anything she is not supposed to-cabinets, dishwasher, drawers, etc.  She loves to take everything out of cabinets and she is very quick at it.  She has also started saying Dada and she waves to everyone.  I love how she is not shy and always smiles at strangers.  We always have an audience when we go out to dinner!  This month she has become interested in reading books, especially touch and feel ones.  It makes me so happy when she gets excited about picking out a book to read.

As if June was not busy enough, I also went to Kelly's Bachelorette party in San Antonio.  We had a great time hanging out by the pool, and then going to a piano bar afterwards.  I can't wait for the wedding that is just a few days away!

Pool Day!

Yesterday the family all went to my parents house for a pool day.  The weather has been really hot so the pool is finally warm enough for swimming.  I have been so excited to see what Sophia would think of the water and she LOVED it! At first, she had a confused look on her face and then she was all smiles.  We had such a great time, we will definitely be going back soon.

After the shower we celebrated Mother's Day since we were all together.  Billy grilled burgers and we had a great time hanging out with the family.
