Happy Nine Months!

Sophia turned nine months last week and her stats at her check up were: 21 pounds and 28.5 inches long.  She is still my big girl but she has slowed down her weight gain (thank goodness!).  This month I started working at the MDO at First Baptist church on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Sophia goes to her classroom while I teach 4 year olds.  It has been a bit of an adjustment but I think it is really good for Sophia to get to socialize with kids her age.  I enjoy staying busy and a little extra money is definitely coming in handy!  We have also been staying busy this month with Kelly's bridal showers and graduation from nursing school.  Sophia has been great going to all the activities with me and I am always very proud of her:) This is what else she has been up to this month:
Eating: We are starting to introduce more solids that we are eating and she really likes it. We are not giving her any baby food and she still drinks the same amount of formula-about 32 ounces per day.  Her favorite foods are-cheese puffs, string cheese, bananas, and greek yogurt.
Sleeping: Her nap is starting later now, usually around 2pm.  She sleeps from 8:30-7:30 at night.
Playing:  Sophia is extremely active these days.  She walks around holding on to whatever she can and has started to stand on her own.  It won't be long before we have a walker!  She has figured out how to open cabinets and loves exploring new things.  She is so much fun to play with and is always giggling.

Can't catch me!

I cannot believe that Sophia is already nine months.  I am already planning her first Birthday and can't believe time goes by so quickly.  I love every day with my little girl and it just gets more and more fun to be a Mom!

Sophia's Dedication

This past weekend was very busy...Sophia turned eight months on Saturday and on Sunday we had a church/parent dedication where we committed to raising Sophia in a Christian home and teach her about God.  Hopefully, later in her life, she will choose the Lord as her savior and she will be baptised then.  It was such a special day filled with important friends and family close to Sophia.  I could not have asked for a better day!  The ceremony was at Second Baptist Church and the ceremony took place before the service.  After the ceremony, we all headed back to our house for some yummy lunch.

Energetic Eight Months!

Wow! I cannot believe Sophia is already eight months.  She thinks she is a big girl and likes to do big girl things.  She now pulls up on EVERYTHING to stand and get a better view.  I'm sure she will be walking in no time.  Thankfully she is really careful and we have not had any boo boos yet, but I know they will be coming.  She is not afraid of anything so it is my job to be watching her every move, which is a full-time job to say the least.  Here is what we have been up to this month:

Eating:  Sophia has added puffs, yogurt, popsicles(on occasion), and bananas to her diet and she really likes them.  She is a not too interested in baby food so we don't really make a big effort to feed her it.  She is drinking 16 oz of formula in the morning before nap, and 16-20 oz in the afternoon.  She is also still spitting up and I cannot wait for this stage to be over!
Sleeping: She still sleeps from 8-7:30 each night and naps from 1-3:30 in the afternoons.
Playing:  Sophia never stops!  She is crawling everwhere, pulling up on everything, and even crawling up stairs.  She is always on the go and is loving life.  She is so much fun to play with right now.  She is also saying alot of words(some sound like dada) but she is not yet talking.  She does understand bottle, her name, and Sydney.

As you can see from her 8 month pictures, she does not sit still long!
Big smile :)

Here she comes!!!

Can't catch me!!!

Here are some of the things she likes to pull up on:
Stairs

Toy box

Mommy's leg

Coffee table

Storage chest

Window sill

Mommy again-so proud of herself:)

Through the tunnel without any problems!

My little girl is not so little any more and I am so excited for the next few months.  I know she is going to do so many new things and I am so proud to be her Mommy!

Sophia's First Easter!

Sophia's first Easter was so much fun!  Scott was supposed to be working all day, but he was able to get off early and make it to my parent's house to celebrate.  Sophia is at such a fun age where she is easily entertained, so she had a blast watching her big cousins Avery and Samantha play.  She even hunted a few Easter eggs.  These are the pictures I took:

So many toys...so little time!

She got one(with a little help from daddy)

Avery is on the move...watch out!

What do I do with this?!

Easter was so much fun with our little girl and I keep thinking about next year when she can really hunt eggs and run around.  We are so blessed to have such a sweet baby to make holidays even more exciting and memorable.  I also look forward to teaching Sophia why we celebrate Easter and how Jesus died on the cross and rose 3 days later so that our sins may be forgiven.  Thank you God for all the many blessings that you have provided us!

Silly Seven Months

Sophia has been very entertaining this past month.  She is very vocal, active, and easily entertained.  She craps me up all the time and I think I do the same to her!  This is what we have been up to this month:
Eating:  Sophia is only getting one serving of solids a day because they don't seem to satisfy her.  She has started eating some meats, bananas, avocado, and mum mums.  She is also very good at drinking water from her sippy cup.  No teeth yet and no sign of them either-just alot of drooling!
Sleeping:  This month has been Sophia's best sleep month.  I guess because she is so busy during the day, I do not hear a peep from her during the night.  She is very happy to lay in her crib and fall asleep on her own without fussing at all.  She has been napping from 12:30-2:30 and sleeping from 8pm-8am.
Playing:Sophia is now mobile and crawls everywhere(especially where she is not supposed to be).  She loves to see something and then crawl to it and tells us by letting out a screaching sound while she is doing so.  She is also obsessed with rugs and likes to pick them up and put them in her mouth.  Nedlessly to say, I have been keeping my floors particularly clean lately!
This is a video of her crawling to me:
